Each individual who chooses to undergo breast surgery does so for specific and personal reasons. There are, however, some common cosmetic problems that breast surgeries are used to correct.
Asymmetrical Breasts
Many women have breasts that are different sizes. For some women, the difference may be a cup size or more. Depending on an individual patient’s preferences, breast augmentation or breast reduction surgery can be used to make the breasts symmetrical.
Disproportionate Breasts
Another common problem that many women experience is breasts that are not in proportion with the hips, waist, or shoulders. Depending on whether the breasts are disproportionately big or small, breast reduction or augmentation may be used.
Sagging Breasts
Weight gain and loss, pregnancy, and aging can all cause the breast tissue to stretch and the breasts to droop. A breast lift can be used to remove excess skin and restore the breasts to a more youthful position.
Oversized Breasts
Some women with large breasts find them uncomfortable or have trouble purchasing clothes that fit correctly. Breast reduction surgery can be used to solve this cosmetic problem.
Undersized Breasts
Women with small breasts may feel self-conscious wearing swimsuits and revealing clothing or find that most clothing does not fit correctly. Breast augmentation can provide these women with larger, more aesthetically pleasing breasts.
Damaged Breast Tissue from Prior Surgery
If a breast surgery is performed by an unskilled surgeon, damage to the breast tissue may cause cosmetic problems. Breast correction can be used to replace damaged implants, resize the implant pocket, or improve the overall appearance of breasts that have been damaged from a previous surgery.
If you are interested in undergoing breast surgery, Dr. Gregory Stagnone and the medical staff at the Plastic Surgery Center of Dallas can provide you with additional information. To learn more about breast procedures or to schedule a surgical consultation, call our office today at (888) 701-0835.

If you are unhappy with the appearance of your nose, you may be wondering if rhinoplasty is the right solution for you. This surgery, also called nose reshaping or a nose job, can be used to alter the size and shape of the nose. Here are some questions that you should ask your plastic surgeon if you are interested in rhinoplasty:
1. Am I a good candidate for rhinoplasty?
Nearly anyone who is unhappy with his or her nose can be a candidate for rhinoplasty. However, like all procedures, rhinoplasty does carry some risks. While complications from rhinoplasty are rare, you should be in good overall health before undergoing the procedure. In addition, good candidates for rhinoplasty have realistic expectations of the results that the surgery can provide.
2. What results can I expect?
Your range of results will be determined by the current shape and size of your nose. If you feel that your nose is too large, you can expect some reduction in size, though your nose cannot be made too small to accommodate your skin. Similarly, if you feel your nose is too small, a nasal implant may be used to increase its size to a certain extent. Your surgeon can provide before and after photos of other patients and additional information to give you an accurate idea of the results that you can expect from rhinoplasty.
3. How long will recovery after rhinoplasty take?
Be sure that you find out how long your recovery will take after rhinoplasty. Immediately after rhinoplasty, you will be required to rest in bed and wear bandages for several days. It is important that you are prepared to rest for the amount of time that your surgeon advises.
You can schedule a consultation at the Plastic Surgery Center of Dallas to have your questions about rhinoplasty answered by Dr. Gregory Stagnone. To learn more about rhinoplasty, call us today at (888) 701-0835.
